Using AI in RE and School Liturgies

Induction, RE and Formation
Target Audience:  RE Teachers and Music Teachers

Overview
In recent years, new technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) have become part of daily life for man. By using modern tools sparingly, responsibly, and transparently, we can remain faithful stewards of our ministry and dedicate ourselves to what matters most: prayer, service, and community.

AI is not a replacement for prayer, reflection, or the human heart. Rather, when carefully and responsibly used, it can help us serve this work better.

.Aims
The key learnings from this presentation will be:
  •  To Prompt AI with complex theological questions (e.g., "How does Catholic Social Teaching apply to climate change?")
  • How to use AI to quickly create worksheets, quizzes, reading summaries, or different versions of texts for varying reading levels
  • Use AI as a starting point for research, requiring students to verify all claims with Scripture, Church documents, or academic sources.
  • To brainstorm themes, prayer points, scripture connections, or readings for specific liturgical seasons or school events..
  • To get ideas for hymns, musical styles, or visual displays that align with the liturgical theme.

Duration
One day of practical application of using AI in RE lessons and school liturgies
