Overview
The Graduate Certificate in Religious Education is for educators including teachers, middle leaders, principals, and administrators provides the basic certification, fundamental knowledge, skills and competencies needed to teach religious education. This unit explores the nature and purpose of prayer and liturgical participation in Catholic parishes and schools with a particular focus on their role in religious education. The unit presents an introduction to how to teach about prayer and Christian worship in a variety of settings. It provides opportunities to examine and evaluate existing resources and to develop skills in preparation of liturgical celebrations. This unit aims to develop students’ knowledge about prayer and liturgy in the Catholic tradition and provide them with opportunities to develop professional expertise in these areas in the context of religious education in schools and other settings. For those holding a Graduate Certificate in Religious Education and/or Theology will have it accredited toward the Graduate Diploma or Masters.. Subsidies of fees for permanent teachers. |
