Charisms: Spirituality and Mission

Spirituality and Faith Formation
Target Audience:  All Staff

Overview
​
Most Catholic schools were established by religious orders and retain strong connections to the founders.  This may even be the case when the founding orders no long has members involved in the school.  An important aspect of contemporary Catholic education is keeping alive the gift of the spirit or charism of the founding community in these new circumstances.

Aims
With this program participants will:

  • recognise a school’s particular identity comes from its Charism.
  • understand that charism provides a philosophy and foundational principle on which to build a community, the school’s culture, a distinctively of being and Catholic identity.
  • reflect how the legacy  of the various charisms' continues to contribute to the life and mission of the school?
  • discern what charism means for you in your role.
Duration
The program will include one day of input. reflections, interactive exercises, time for personal reflection and journaling, and small group reflection
