Overview
Catholic schools have been intrinsically bound over the centuries by the religious traditions of the Catholic Church, and they served as a firm framework for the building of an authentic educational and faith community. Designed for all new teachers to the Diocese, participants will spend time reflecting on how the mission of Jesus is alive today in the work of the Church, and how the mission and purpose of Catholic education continues to be a focus for all involved in Catholic schools. Participants will reflect on their own vocation and their personal reasons for beginning a career in education. They reflect on their own personal vision and mission statement and identify how they might find opportunities to express this through their work in Catholic education. Duration
This induction program combines storytelling, scripture and the use of metaphors to highlight the key themes. Participants are given frequent opportunities for personal reflection and discussion with their peers so as to ascertain the relevance of the input to the unique context of their school community.
