Overview
This workshop will explore the mission and ministry of Jesus, especially the parables and miracles, through art. Participants will explore the historical and scriptural context of the parables and miracles of Jesus and then proceed to see how artists have re-contextualised them to make them relevant and challenging for the viewers.

Aims
With this program participants will:
  • understand the unique role that the parables and miracles of Jesus play in his mission and ministry.
  • identify the way the Gospel writers re-contextualised these stories and events to speak to their listeners
  • recognise the way artists have represented these stories to speak to their particular historical situation
  • appreciate both classical and contemporary representations of the miracles and parables of Jesus in art.
 Duration
This one-day workshop will include interactive exercises, sharing of individual insights, personal reflection and teaching strategies for the content presented
