Overview
The Emerging Leaders Program provides an introduction to leadership in Catholic Schools. The program is aimed at teachers with limited leadership experience who are curious about the knowledge, skills and dispositions required to become a faith-filled Catholic school leader. This presentation will briefly encapsulate the nature and role of New Evangelisation, particularly within the context of Australian Catholic Education in the 21st Century. In particular, it will argue that the ‘New Evangelisation’ is not really ‘New’ but rather an underlying sub-theme of the ‘Never Ending Story’ that is the Catholic faith tradition. Through the power of story, the presentation will seek to explore seven key challenges New Evangelisation poses to the ‘Hidden Extras’ of the ‘Never Ending Story’ – the leaders in Catholic schools. Duration
The program will include a day that combines storytelling, scripture and the use of metaphors to highlight the key themes. Participants are given frequent opportunities for personal reflection and discussion with their peers so as to ascertain the relevance of the input to the unique context of their school community.
